Gastronomy is a funny word
What does a blog about gastronomy look like, especially when it’s written by dozens of people from dozens of different countries around the world? We talk about UNISG working to create a new definition of gastronomy, one that encompasses all the aspects and interconnections of food, and one that re-complexifies what food is in our daily, weekly, and generational lives. What better way to make it complex than to hear from people who agree AND disagree, who have competing AND compatible expectations and imaginations?
We all get a stronger sense of our beliefs and identities when we put them down on paper or in pixels. We create content through this process, not just in our words, but in the act of doing it together. And in doing it together we help change the way the system works, not just the individuals involved. There are a lot of nice adjectives that start to describe this: COnvivial, COllaborative, COoperative, COmmunal, COllective. Plenty of other words are going to get used in these blog pages, and that’s going to be exciting. Let’s see what happens.

Great site, congratulations. I like the idea of calling UNISG students GastroGnomes….kinda like garden gnomes, only better-fed!
