Two Servings of Food Culture and Communications
Due to an exceptional number of highly qualified applicants to the master in Food Culture and Communications this year, a second section of the program comprising an additional 25 students will kick off at the Pollenzo campus on May 26, 2010. The Colorno section will start on the regularly scheduled date of March 10, and both sections will consist of the same academic program, although study trips may take place in different locations. UNISG Students from U.S. Now Eligible for Federal Student Loans
The University of Gastronomic Sciences has received a Federal School Code from the U.S. Department of Education, making American students eligible to apply for federal student loans in order to attend UNISG programs. The UNISG school code is G41391 and may be used on the FAFSA website in the application process. For more information, download the UNISG FSA Factsheet.

Agriculture Study Trip
From January 18 to 22, second-year undergraduates were involved in a study trip exploring fruit and vegetable growing. Over the course of five days, they participated in lessons given both by UNISG professors as well as expertis in the field, as well as visited such producers at Del Monte and Bonduelle.

Beer Study Trip
Third-year undergrads were also traveling, for a new study trip examining beer production. January 25 to 29 saw first a series of lessons held at Pollenzo by master brewers and UNISG teachers, and later a number of visits to producers. These included such microbreweries as Citabiunda and Troll, the Pause Café at the Saluzza prison, and to the international company, Carlsberg.

Undergraduate Program Applications Now Open
Applications are now being taken online via the UNISG website for the three-year undergraduate program in Gastronomic Sciences. Students must first register in order to be eligible to take the admissions test, a requirement for eventual admission to the program.

UNISG Open Houses
The Pollenzo and Colorno campuses open their doors to all prospective students interested in learning more about the school and its offerings. The next dates are as follows:
- Saturday, March 27, 2010
- Saturday, May 15, 2010
Staff and faculty will be on hand at different information points (Faculty, Registrar, Academics, Student Services) where visitors can meet and ask questions of teachers as well as upper-year students. Information will be available about applications, services, scholarship announcements, and the admissions test.

International Course on Piedmontese Wines—March and July 2010
This course, organized in cooperation with top local producers and institutions, is aimed at professionals in the field (restaurants, wine bars, importers, and buyers) who believe in spreading the culture of wine throughout the world. It is designed to present not only the uniqueness of Piemontese wines, but also their rapport with the local gastronomic culture, in a context that brings together history, people, and food.
